MANBY  26th & 27th
Dear Members
I would like to place a public apology to the MSA for my incompetence for copying last years listing of events and changing the dates.  By placing the event as a ‘pay and drive’ event which has been shown on last years and this years calendar this has now been picked up by the MSA who have rightfully shown some concern.
The members are fully aware that the promotion events we run are fully controlled in accordance with the general terms of the MSA rule book and can be seen from the general wording above.  They are controlled as far as participant and vehicles are concerned that there is in fact a course to follow that is non timed and rules are explained.
We have sufficient evidence that these routes are clearly marked and give varying degrees of difficulty and are fully marshaled.
I will be contacting their representative to explain this situation and the reason we changed the membership option so that members can spread their membership charges throughout the season.
As we have run this event for a number of years and without incident - and that Manby officials have confirmed our setting out routes have been some of the best they have experienced - and we have even called the Manby Officials to task to drive to our rules on the day speaks volumes which I hope the MSA can appreciate.
WE ARE RUNNING MANBY AS PLANNED
ANYONE WISHING TO TRAVEL UP ON THE FRIDAY
IS WELCOME BUT PLEASE BE AWARE IT IS £10 PER NIGHT
FRIDAY EVENING IS AN OPTION FOR CAMPING ONLY
SATURDAY DRIVING & CAMPING AND SUNDAY DRIVING

We have contacted the MSA Officials and have forwarded an E-mail to Simon Fowler with a full explanation what we do at the event and have given an open invitation for an MSA official to turn up un-announced if they fell it is necessary.
We are proceeding with the event as planned and the ‘cross country promotion event’ licence is booked. The MSA response was related to the events listing as a ‘pay and drive’ and they have had enquiries from other clubs asking why we are aloud to have pay and drive and they are not; that we are registering the event as a controlled promotion event through the MSA and the event is just turn up pay money and drive in what could end up as money making event that is, uncontrolled, unmarshaled, and unsafe.
